Our Facility
The Emergency Department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology that helps physicians to diagnose problems more quickly and efficiently.
The entire department was completely renovated in 2003 and includes more than 22,000 square feet. Recent technology updates, however, have allowed the emergency team to create a new standard of care.
One of the most important additions is a new radiology suite that’s dedicated just for emergency use.
“With new technology in place and collaboration with Diagnostic Imaging Staff, we are able to provide nearly instantaneous results,” said the manager of Diagnostic Imaging. “That’s especially important in those critical moments when seconds can make the difference.”
Diagnostic Capabilities:
New equipment includes a Philips Mobile Digital Diagnost X-ray machine with wireless technology that allows staff to provide X-ray exams right in the trauma bays.
With this portable equipment, emergency doctors and trauma surgeons are able to view on-screen images of the patient’s body within three seconds of exposure.
Just outside of the trauma area, the hospital has installed a new radiology suite dedicated just for use in the emergency department. This new imaging center offers the pinnacle of digital technology with a Philips Digital Diagnost high performance X-ray room.
In addition, the radiology suite has its own CT scanning equipment. The new Philips Brilliance CT 64-channel scanner can provide all critical scans in the shortest amount of time possible.
With the addition of this scanner, Diagnostic Imaging staff is able to bring results to the physicians as quickly as current technology allows. The CT scanner is also safer, with reduced radiation exposure for patients.
