The McLaren Macomb Healthcare Foundation’s 27th annual gala, The Crystal Ball, will feature two special awards. The foundation is the fundraising arm of McLaren Medical Center–Macomb (formerly Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center).
The Crystal Ball will be held from 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Penna’s of Sterling, 38400 Van Dyke in Sterling Heights. The black-tie event will include gourmet hors d’oeuvres, dinner, premium bar, raffles and dancing to Persuasion.
“Two remarkable individuals have been selected to be honored for their ongoing commitment and support of the hospital and the foundation,” said Elsa Silverman, director of McLaren Macomb Healthcare Foundation (formerly the Mount Clemens Regional Healthcare Foundation). “This is an opportunity for us to publicly acknowledge their tremendous contribution.”
Dr. Patrick McClellan will be presented with the Physician Recognition Award and Dean Petitpren will receive the Community Partner Award.
Dr. McClellan, a retired family practice physician, will be honored for his longtime commitment to healthcare, the hospital and his role in establishing the hospital’s Medical Outreach Clinic. Petitpren, a hospital board member and president of Petitpren Inc., will be recognized for his community service and commitment to the hospital.
“Both recipients have given generously of their time and expertise to McLaren–Macomb and are very deserving of these awards,” added Silverman. The new awards will be given annually at the gala.
Tickets are $250 per person.
A portion of the proceeds from the gala will benefit McLaren–Macomb’s Medical Outreach Clinic. This unique mobile clinic provides free medical services to residents of Macomb County who are without medical insurance benefits and are unable to pay for their care.
