As part of McLaren Macomb’s commitment to create a healthier community McLaren Macomb offers a free mammogram program for uninsured women in Macomb County. Screening tests can detect breast cancer early, when it’s most treatable. The BRAvo for Women program helps ensure that women without insurance have access to free mammogram screenings. To qualify for this program, residents must meet certain guidelines including proof of residency, income, and age. Uninsured women who wish to be considered must complete an application to determine if they qualify for a free mammogram. A prescription from a referring physician is also required.
For more information download the application now. Submit the application as directed. Once an application is received and reviewed, applicants will be notified by a member of the Breast Center team if they qualify for a free mammogram. Uninsured women who do not meet the criteria may be eligible for a reduced rate on a screening mammogram
For additional information regarding the free mammogram program, please call the Bravo for Women 24-hour message line at (586) 493-3474. Messages will be returned within two business days.
Funding for the program is provided by the McLaren Macomb Healthcare Foundation and is raised from events held throughout the year. This year’s annual fundraiser, BRAvogue: Kicking Cancer with Style focuses on increasing awareness of breast cancer detection and prevention. The event will be held on Tuesday, October 15th at Penna’s of Sterling, 38400 Van Dyke, Sterling Heights, Michigan 48312. Doors open at 5:30PM.
