Diagnostic X-ray
Diagnostic X-ray provides services 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, performing approximately 70,000 procedures per year.

CT Scan
The CT department also provides services 24/7 and performs approximately 25,000 procedures per year. Appointments are necessary. The CT department has two multi-slice scanners to compliment the existing single slice scanner. With 3 scanners on-site, McLaren-Macomb offers extended hours and ease of scheduling for outpatient appointments. The multi-slice technology allows McLaren-Macomb to provide the following services:

  • CT Angiography
  • Coronary artery calcium scoring
  • Brain perfusion

Ultrasound/Vascular
The Ultrasound/Vascular department performs more than 14,000 exams per year and is accredited with the American College of Radiology. Appointments are necessary.

Interventional Radiology/Special Procedures
The McLaren-Macomb Interventional Radiology/Special Procedures department performs close to 5,000 procedures per year. The Angiography Lab and the interventional rooms offer state of the art technology with the recent installation of a bi-plane angiography unit and multi-slice CT scanners. Some of the services provided include:

  • Uterine Fibroid Embolization
  • Tumor Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
    • Vascular stenting
  • Chemotherapy Arm Ports
    • Kyphoplasty

    Nuclear Medicine
The Nuclear Medicine department performs approximately 9,000 procedures per year and recently installed two new dual-head cameras, offering outstanding image quality for general and cardiac studies. Appointments are necessary.

    Mobile PET/Scan
The Diagnostic Imaging department now offers one of the leading diagnostic measures in combating cancer. Through state of the art technology, positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) are combined into one procedure, PET/CT, to image the whole body. The technology is used primarily to assess cancers, such as lung, colorectal, esophagus, lymphoma, breast, and melanoma. Other advantages of PET/CT include:

    • Myocardial imaging for cardiac viability or assessment prior to re-vascularization
    • Brain imaging for early stages of Alzheimer's disease and dementia, and closed head injury
    • Clinical exams performed on both children and adults
    • Non-invasive testing offered within the community, where physicians no longer need to send patients out of the area

    Mammography
A comprehensive line of mammography services are offered through McLaren-Macomb Breast  Center. The center is accredited in mammography with the State of Michigan, American College of Radiology, and the Federal government (MQSA).

The center's technologists are female and registered in mammography. Radiologists at the center are board certified and hold additional credentials in mammography.

    • Digital mammography is now offered at the center. Digital mammography has been proven to be more accurate in detecting breast cancer in women who are under the age of 50, women who are still having menstrual periods, and women with radiographically dense breast tissue. Digital mammography is covered by most insurances.
    • The center offers computer-aided detection (CAD) through the use of the R2 Image Checker, technology that increases breast cancer detection rates by 23.8%
    • Breast services provided include screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, minimally invasive breast biopsy (Mammotome), and ductography
    • Bone densitomety (DEXA) is also offered for detecting osteoporosis

    MRI
MRI services are provided on-site, seven days a week.  MRI services include the latest in breast and cardiac diagnostic techniques.
