Pastoral Care

Requesting Pastoral Care
Emotions can become so scrambled during the uncertain time of illness and hospitalization. The on-call chaplain can provide compassionate listening and a non-judgmental presence. They can lead you to the peace and comfort that come from turning to your own spiritual center.

McLaren Greater Lansing’s chaplains and chaplain assistants are trained to accommodate all religious beliefs and will do their best to be available to you and your loved ones at any time you request their services.

To request a chaplain, patients should contact their nurse, who will make pastoral care arrangements.

Each nursing unit also has a "Pastoral Care Notebook," which contains prayers from different religious traditions. If a patient’s religious leader is not available, families may use these to offer spiritual support.
