McLaren Flint’s Stroke Program is recognized as a 2012 Silver Plus hospital by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. The rankings appear in the “U.S. News & World Report” 2013 Best Hospitals edition. Silver Plus hospitals are recognized for at least 12 months of 85% or higher adherence on all achievement measures applicable and at least 75% or higher adherence on select quality measures in stroke. The rankings are part of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association “Get with the Guidelines®” program. This initiative ensures consistent application of the most recent American Heart Association/American Stroke Association scientific guidelines for patient treatment. The stroke campaign’s target is to help hospital teams achieve the goal of door-to-needle (DTN) times of 60 minutes or less for ischemic stroke patients that receive thrombolytic therapy by providing evidence-based strategies, clinical support, measurement tools and other resources. McLaren Flint is the only area hospital to receive this recognition.
