| The 2013 Charles E. Anthony Memorial "Zipper Open" golf outing will be held
Thursday, June 6
at both Bucks Run Golf Club and the PohlCat Golf Course in Mt. Pleasant. This charity golf outing benefits Heart & Vascular Services at McLaren Central Michigan. The first event was organized 27 years ago by local businessman Charles E. Anthony for the benefit of several of his "zipper" (heart surgery) friends. Golf is good exercise for heart patients, so Charlie organized this special event for people who had the "zipper-like" scar from open heart surgery on their chest.

History of the Zipper Open

Last year, the Zipper Open realized more than $40,000 in proceeds, which funded the purchase of equipment for the McLaren Heart Center, the hospital’s new off-site, outpatient expansion of the Heart & Vascular Center, located at 5115 E. Pickard in Mt. Pleasant. The Heart Center provides patients in need of cardiac diagnostic testing with convenient access to care, and also serves as the new Mt. Pleasant practice location for cardiologists Sudeep Mohan, MD and Abraham Krepostman, MD, FACC. Please join us June 6th, 2013! |
