About our Laboratory

Our medical laboratory is under the direction of a board-certified pathologist who has special training in clinical laboratory science and anatomic pathology. Our lab is not only accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP),  but also by the College of American Pathologists and the Food and Drug Administration. Upon orders from a physician, laboratory personnel conduct sophisticated tests using automated equipment to help the physician determine the nature of a patient's illness and the proper course of treatment. Lab tests also can reveal how well a medication is working and alert physicians to possible side effects.  Common lab tests include:
  • Antinuclear Antibody test (ANA):  screening for certain autoimmune disorders
  • Complete Blood Count (CBC): determine general health status
  • Prothrombin Time or Pro Time (PT): check how well blood-thinning medications are working

For more information on these or other laboratory tests, visit Lab Tests Online.
