Through the MCRMC Cancer Research Office and the hospital's affiliation with national research organizations (SWOG, NSABP), patients have access to current clinical trials and research activities that:

• Evaluate potential cancer prevention strategies
• Measure the effectiveness of certain drugs and treatment protocols
• Assess quality of life issues, without needing to leave their home community
• Can lead to improved treatment and eventually a cure for cancer as well as giving the individual patient an opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge program that could provide great personal benefit.
