| Minimum Qualifications | Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center, a McLaren Health Service, is currently accepting resumes from qualified candidates for the role of Pharmacy Technician. This position is a contingent position with variable shifts rotation on day and afternoon shift. Some weekend and holiday coverage is required. To be considered candidates must be a High school graduate or the equivalent required. Must have approximately three to six months on-the-job training in order to become familiar with policies, procedures, and interpreting orders. One to 2 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician with preference given to prior work experience in a hospital environment. Pharmacy Technician certification highly preferred. In addition, candidates must have the following requirements: Work requires the ability to read, write, perform calculations, and have a basic technical knowledge of pharmaceuticals. Ability to accurately and efficiently follow oral and written instructions, work closely with others, and adapt to changing work loads. Familiarity in the uses of computer equipment, needles, syringes, dispensing devices and IV admixture equipment. To be considered candidates must be a High school graduate or the equivalent required. One to 2 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferred in a hospital environment. Pharmacy Technician certification highly preferred. |
| Primary Duties | Enters medication /IV orders in computer systems. Assembles patient medication and prepares admixtures. Delivers and exchanges unit dose cassettes. Particaptes in stock control and processes wholesale orders. Frequent reading of medication orders, medication labels, and reports is required. Pulling or pushing of loads borne by carts is often required. Frequent finger and hand manipulation is required, especially when compounding intravenous solutions. |
