Annual Streber Golf Outing Continues to Generate Support for Hospice
As a non-profit local organization, McLaren Hospice relies on the donations and efforts of the community to increase the level of care that is provided to each and every patient. Some donations are one-time gifts like donations of flowers and bird seed that are often dropped off to help make a more pleasant atmosphere for the patients at Brian's House. Other efforts are ongoing annual traditions that contribute thousands of dollars to hospice every summer.
Dave Streber and his family, along with dozens of community sponsors, are conducting the annual golf outing again this year. The Nancy Ann Streber Memorial Golf Classic started in 1998 in remembrance of Dave's mother who passed away suddenly. To honor Nancy Streber's legacy, a room was dedicated in her name.
 The "Lighthouse Point" is a place of solace, peace, and calm for the patients and families of hospice patients who visit there. Because of the monies generated through efforts like the golf outing, Brian's House receives constant aesthetic improvements like recent projects involving new furniture, hummingbird feeders, more perennials in the garden, and many other "extras" that make hospice such a special place to receive care.
With over 115 golfers each year, the Nancy Ann Streber Memorial Golf Outing is something to look forward to every summer.
