Pathology

Board-certified pathologists are valuable cancer team members who determine tumor malignancy, cell type, grade and pathologic stage. This is done through microscopic examination of the tumor and specialized laboratory tests using advanced immunochemistry technology and cytogenetic studies when necessary. Pathologists actively participate on each of the tumor boards and clinical teams to help ensure accurate diagnosis, staging, and treatment of cancer.
